Working from home w/c12.10.20

If you’re working from home, follow the instructions below for links, tasks and information so that you can complete similar work to what we’re doing in school. If you need any help, log-ins or further information, please ask!

My group’s spellings: occupy, system, average, temperature, definite, vegetable, familiar, foreign, harass, vehicle, particular, opposite and occasionally.

Mrs Howard/Miss Godfrey’s group’s spellings: gym, cygnet, crystal, mystery, pyramid, iguana, igloo, itch, image and injure.

English: Please read for 15 minutes each day and record any definitions for any clarifies. Use the website from last week to write a non-chronological report about chickens. You will need to include a section each on chickens generally, their dietary needs, how to keep them safe, the daily checks you need to do and a final paragraph to conclude your writing.

Maths: Complete lessons 1-5 here.

Science: Please complete this lesson.

Geography: Can you still locate Greece on a map of Europe? Which other countries can you locate on a world map? We are going to be looking at the physical geography of Greece this week. Can you remember what a biome is from your Y3 learning? If not, there is a handy link here. Can you find out what the terrain and elevation of Greece is like? Which animals are native to Greece? What are the bodies of water in and around Greece? Find out as much as you can and create a fact file of your research.

Working from home w/c 04.10.20

If you’re working from home, follow the instructions below for links, tasks and information so that you can complete similar work to what we’re doing in school. If you need any help, log-ins or further information, please shout up!

My group’s spellings: amateur, sufficient, sacrifice, disastrous, restaurant, conscience, necessary, signature, secretary, prejudice, interest, mention and occasion.

Mrs Howard/Miss Godfrey’s group’s spellings: ease, tease, please, rise, noise, browse, cheese, pause, blouse and because.

English: Read for at least 15 minutes per day and clarify any unknown words. We will be looking at words that include ‘ough’. Complete these activities and then choose some games here. We will be looking at the features of reports before writing our own about Lohmann Brown chickens next week. Start your research using this website so that you can be an expert on how to look after our girls. There is a lot of information. Use the blue sub-sections on the right-hand side and be sure to check out the ‘How to keep chickens’, ‘Chicken Houses’, ‘Health’ and ‘Predators’ sections at the very least 🐔.

Maths: We need some more time on subtraction so I’d like you to follow this link and complete lessons 8, 9 and 10.

RE: This week, we will be looking at our responsibilities as caretakers of the Earth. Are we as humans doing a good job? Make a list of all of the good things humans are doing for our world and then make another list of the ways that humans are destroying it. Can you think of one thing you are going to change right now?
