We are going to be talking about a very special family man called Stick Man

Watch and listen carefully to the story Stick Man . He is trying to get home to his family, he ends up in lots of trouble. Can you recall and talk about the things that happen to him.

Phonics : can you say the sounds in Stick Man now try writing his name by saying each sounds. Remember to get start each letter in the correct place. All names start with a Capital letter, which are bigger than the lower case letters.
Can you blend the sounds in the words below using the ck digraph

CLIC: Numeracy putting numbers in order have fun ordering your numbers 1-5 1-10 and 1-20.

Reading : change the characters to make a new story. In a dark dark … there were 3 skeletons , a cat skeleton, and she went for a prowl … etc.
Book change : Teach my monster to read log in and have some fun.

Phonics Group 2 & 3 key words read and write letter sounds today and blend. πŸ‘ We go up . She can run. 🌟It is long. This is a short sock. Make or use your set of tricky words to remember, play splat with them Group 1 πŸ˜€ Put your letter cards on the stairs s a t, p i n, etc. or wall and say the sound every time you go past. Key words it at is on play hide and seek with them.

CLIC : Doubles game using a dice / or number cards. Double that number. Try try again are you able to recall your double numbers quickly? Use your fingers to help.

Diwali – watch this video Mendi patterns and enjoy making a Mendi pattern. πŸ–

Creative : Have fun with your Skeleton song and dance. Can you make your own skeleton moves.

Creation Story : Complete your images and share the creation story with your family.

Thinking about the pictures where would you like the skeletons to go, what might happen ? – think of different places they could go. (Adults to ask, where, who what, when why questions). Here’s another skeleton story The Pet Shop

Name writing : use different coloured pens for each letter. Make a bedroom door label. Take care with your letter formation.

Phonics : writing sounds in words.

Creative – The Creation story continue with your pictures, showing the 7 days.

Funny bones – book of week

Listen to and sequence the places in the dark dark section of the story, cellar, staircase, town, street , house, hill. Now say the intro 3 times.

Phonics : πŸ˜€Phase 2: recap flash card sounds s a t p i n can you find them on food labels ?

🌟 Phase 3: recap digraphs ch sh say and sort words with the digraph sounds. Chop chin chug and ship shop wish fish swish. Circle or highlight the digraphs in words.

CLIC : How many? πŸ˜€ counting objects or pictures match to number cards 1 2 &3 πŸ‘ Match numbers to amounts to 10 🌟match numbers to amounts to 20. Try some ladybird spot counting, show a number card and make the correct amounts.

Handwriting: Using the correct formation write your name three times . We need to be thinking about those higher case (capital) letters. (πŸ˜€ overwrite/copy below πŸ‘ independently, 🌟 both names, size of the letters.

Understanding the world : name as many bones as you can and point to your body parts, and remember five bone facts. Make a list to help you.

Staying healthy : Can you jump πŸ˜€, hop on each leg πŸ‘ and 🌟 skip. Find a good space and warm up with a jog on the spot . Now try each action at least 10 times when you can do them try adding a challenge.

Bible story :Creation We find this story in a book called the bible in the first chapter called Genesis. Watch the video below can you recall how many days it took God to make the world.

Parents Note: Children learn at different rates at begin at different starting points. The work set is for children meeting age related expectations πŸ‘. Some children may need more support πŸ˜€ and others a challenge 🌟. Please leave a comment and I can get back to you.

Phonics Group 2 & 3 key words read and write letter sounds today and blend. πŸ‘ We can hop. She is big. 🌟I will be strong. He was in the box. Make a set of tricky words to remember, place them on your stairs and read them every time you go up or down. Group 1 Put your letter cards on the stairs s a t, p i n, etc. or wall and say the sound every time you go past. Key words it at is on

CLIC : Doubles game using a dice / or number cards. Double that number.

Creative : Have fun with your Skeleton song and dance. Can you make your own skeleton moves.

Knowledge and Understanding: can you label or point to the bones in this skeleton using these words from the song.

Using the pictures recall the story in words and sentences. (Ask where, who, what, when why questions). If you need help listen to the story again.

Name writing : use shaving foam, chalk or paint. Take care with your letter formation.

Place value – make a rocket and place the numbers correctly in order. Reverse counting 10 to zero. Rocket count down

Creative – make a chalk skeletons, name the bones as you draw.

Bone name labels 🏷 try making leg, hips, ribs feet skull, arm, back-bone etc.

Creative – using straws and/ or cotton buds, paper for the skull and pelvis make a skeleton. Talk and name the bones as your child thinks about where to put them. Don’t forget ribs get smaller.
