Tuesday 31 March

Good morning Mars ! Great to hear from so many of you yesterday. Please send in a photo using the school email if you would like it to appear on the blog.

Your purple books should have a good few alliteration sentences in now. Keep going with this and choose your next letter. Here is one everyone can try.
Larry the lama loves licking lollipops! 🍭

Reading – Listen to ‘The Tiger who came to tea’ again. Here is my story for you to read today. Parents you can help by reading each word, pointing out the bold Phase 2 and 3 phonic key words. Mrs Forman’s group I spy some words you know too b-ar, t-all, keep look-ing!

Once there was a boy 👦 called Sam and he was having a big breakfast cereal bar with his sister 👧🏽. Suddenly there was a ring on the doorbell. I wonder who that can be. Sam opened the door🚪and there was a tall handsome looking penguin 🐧. ‘Excuse me I’m very hungry he said.

Learning any new word – Say together : was was was was was was. Close your eyes, say and remember the three letter sounds w a s. Do this throughout your day, will you remember at bedtime? Mrs Forman likes the Peter Rabbit story, enjoy 😉. There are more on the little listeners tab too.

Shapes – play guess my shape using 2D and / or 3D shapes. Collect your shapes and put them in a bag, pillowcase or box. Your child has to hold one and describe it to you, without you seeing. It has … corners… straight edges etc.

Keep chanting those numbers; 1-20 in tens to 100, try in two’s to 20,or even 5s to fifty.

Addition 1+1= 1+2= 2+1= 2+2= Use your fingers or objects to help you if you need to. Can you recall these from your memory?

Now try subtraction (Take away)

1-1= 2-1= 2-2= 3-1= 3-2= 3-3=

Physical – relay runs. Set up a short distance to run to pick up and drop objects into a container. Take turns in your team. Try beating the clock ⏰.

Creative – have a go everyone!

Look who is here !

Well done a great start in your purple book.

Good Morning Mars and grown ups! Welcome to our new blog!

Thank you to everyone who is commenting and letting us know what you’re up to. Remember to keep in touch and let us know what you are enjoying and if you have any questions. We love hearing from you.

Phonics – log on to using the log in username: march20 password: home Have a go at some exciting phase 2 or 3 phonics games!

Reading – Remember to keep looking at your reading book from your book bag. Have another look at the story ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’ Today I would like you to have a go at retelling the story to your grown ups.

Writing – Imagine the Tiger came to your house for tea. What would you make for him to eat? Draw a picture of the Tiger visiting your house in your purple books. Try labelling the picture.

Number – Write out the numbers 0-20 on some paper or card, cut them up and then ask a grownup to mix the numbers up – don’t peek! Then, see how quickly you can put them into the correct order. You could ask someone to time you and then see if you can get faster when you try again.

Creative – Ask your child to show you the ‘Car Wash dance’. Grab a duster, tea towel or a sponge pretend to wash to music – Move your arms left and right, stretch up and down (whilst washing) – walk forward / back/ side. Move your arms in circles around the wheels.

Have a great day Mars, keep in touch!

Mrs Neal 🙂

Welcome to Mars!

Hello Priory! Our old school blogs were overwhelmed by the amount of people viewing them recently, so we have made some new ones! Hopefully you can find your way around, they look a little different, but are far more up to date. We welcome any feedback from children and parents/carers.
