Here is a brief summary of some of the things you can be working on at home if you’re not able to be in school this week.

Spellings: My spelling group, your words this week are: picture, adventure, creature, future, nature, capture, signature, feature, puncture, mixture. Mrs Patterson’s spelling group, your words this week are: said, were, you, are, they, come, some, no, one, once.

Maths: This week we are continuing with column multiplication (2 digit x 1 digit). We will also be completing our CLIC/SAFE/Learn Its on Tuesday.

English: This week we are writing our phase 4 write- a diary entry written by an evacuee in WW2.

Topic (Lesson on Thursday): This week we are continuing our learning on evacuees. Write a letter home to your parents as if you have just been evacuated and are now living with a host family in the countryside.

Science (Lesson on Wednesday): This week, we are continuing to draw a picture of a detailed minibeast, a section at a time.

Art (Lesson on Tuesday): This week we are looking at the artist Edward Ardizzone. Take a look at his work on this link and try drawing one of his pictures.

Topic (Lesson on Wednesday): This week we are learning about evacuees. Research why Britain needed to evacuate children and what happened to WW2 evacuees.

Science (Lesson on Thursday): Over the next few lessons we are going to be looking at Levon Bliss’ art work on minibeasts. This week, we are continuing to draw a picture of a detailed minibeast, a section at a time.

Art (Lesson on Tuesday): This week we are continuing to look at shading and toning. We are going to be sketching one of the drawings from the PowerPoint.

Here is a brief summary of some of the things you can be working on at home if you’re not able to be in school this week.

Spellings: My spelling group, your words this week are: vein, reign, veil, weight, eight, neighbour, sleigh, survey, they, obey. Mrs Patterson’s spelling group, your words this week are: says, are, were, was, is, his, has, you, your, they.

Maths: This week we are focusing on coin card. Watch the video below for a reminder of how we work out our coin cards and then create a coin card for the numbers below. We will also be completing our CLIC/SAFE/Learn Its on Tuesday.

English: This week you are planning and writing your own phase 4 story about a missing pet and a family searching for them. Make sure to use expanded noun phrases, inverted commas and fronted adverbials.

Topic (Lesson on Wednesday): This week we are learning about the World Leaders involved in WW2. Who were the leaders of Germany, England, USA, Japan, France and Italy during WW2? Conduct your own research.

Science (Lesson on Thursday): Over the next few lessons we are going to be looking at Levon Bliss’ art work on minibeasts. This week, research and find a picture/photo of a minibeast of your choice and try sketching it, making sure to use the whole A4 page.

Topic (Lesson on Wednesday): This week we are looking at timelines. In year 2, you learnt about the Great Fire of London. In year 3, you learnt about Ancient Egypt and the Stone Age. Now we are learning about World War 2. Find out when these all took place and draw a timeline ordering these historical events.

Science (Lesson on Thursday): This week we are looking at minibeasts and their habitats around school. You could join in with the hunt around your garden or whilst you are on a walk.

RE (Lesson on Tuesday): This week we are looking at different symbols from Christianity. We are focusing on the cross, the fish and the dove. Research and draw these symbols. Why are they important to Christians?
