Hello Year 1 🙂

Here are some ideas and opportunities for learning if you are unable to come into school. If you are unsure of any of your login details, please get it touch via the office.

Phonics – this week we are revisiting all the vowel digraphs we have learnt over the past few weeks (see below). You can go back to the blog posts from the last few weeks to view the relevant videos. You can practise recognising and blending these phonemes on Phonics Play.

English – here are our spelling words for this week. Practise them using one of the ideas below. Don’t forget to read your book for at least 15 minutes too.

Maths – play the games I have chosen for you on Education City. This week, we are revisiting subtraction. On Friday, complete your CLIC and Learn Its challenges on BIGMaths.

Art – in art we will be drawing self-portraits. Use a mirror to check the details on your face before you draw. What colour are your eyes? What colour is your hair? Do you have thin or thick eyebrows? Send me a picture of your finished portrait!

Topic – we are learning about timelines! Can you create a timeline that shows four things that have happened to you in the past, between being born and the present day. There is an example of a timeline below. Ideas for things you could include are: your first holiday, your first day at school or a younger brother/sister being born.
