Have you had a good weekend Year 1?

Here are your learning activities for today.

English – add capital letters and full stops in the game on Education City.
If you scroll down, you will find a Purple Book alternative.

Science – create a fact file about an animal of your choice.
Make sure you include….
A picture of the animal (this can be a drawing).
The class of the animal – is it a mammal, reptile, bird, fish, amphibian or insect?
The diet of the animal – is it a carnivore, herbivore or omnivore?
You can watch this BBC Bitesize video for a recap on animal diets.

Please remember to read for at least 15 minutes.
There are lots of exciting books to enjoy on Collins Big Cat.

Don’t forget to post a message on the blog telling me what you’ve been up to.

Take a look at the picture. Compose some sentences to describe what you see and write them in your Purple Book. Don’t forget to use a capital letter at the start and a full stop at the end.

Hi Szymon, don’t worry, just take part in the alternative blog activity for today 🙂
Some of the Education City activities only work on computers and some work on tablets too.

Hello Mrs Snowden. How do you do ?
I finished my task at Education City.
The animal I drew in my purple book is a bee. There are more and more of them in my garden because summer is coming 🙂
Bee is a herbivorous insect.

See you tomorrow !

Hello Natan, I am good thank you, how are you?
I’m glad you’ve managed to get onto Education City, that’s super news. Well done 🙂
A bee is fantastic choice. You’ll learn more about bees in science when you get into Year 2, so that’s a great head start.

You are working incredibly hard 🙂

Hello Mrs Snowden, We have had a busy day in Bubble 2. We have written our sentences using capital letters and full stops. Some of us had to be reminded about where a capital letter goes. We all made a fact file with Miss Anna about cats. We found out that a cat is a mammal and they are carnivorous. We found out that a lions and tigers are cats. Some live in houses as pets and some live outside.
We miss you and everyone in Year 1.

Hello Mrs Foreman and Bubble 2! 🙂
Wow, it sounds like you’ve had a very busy day indeed! I’m pleased to hear you all got there in the end with your capital letters and full stops.
Cats are my favourite! It’s just like you knew 😉 You’re quite right, lions and tigers are cats. Tigers are my favourite kind of cat.
I’ll see you all tomorrow! Mrs Snowden
