β€˜ Things I Like’

This week we will be finding out more about the children and what makes them special by talking and writing about the things they like. We will be helping them to understand that we have different thoughts and ideas too.

Thank you to everyone who came to school with their PE kit and named uniform. We are working on getting undressed and dressed for PE. You can help your child by encouraging them to do this at home. (it may take a little longer but it is one of our learning goals). The children are so proud of themselves when they can do it independently

Naming and describing 2D shapes
The children have been learning to play a shape game, use their shapes to draw around and to describe them by talking about the number of corners and edges they have. We have also been looking for them in the objects around us. Please try this at home too.

Circle, triangle, square, rectangle, hexagon, pentagon and hexagon.

Reading Helping your child to read, please look in your child’s reading log for messages from their teachers. As your child learns their letter sounds, hears them in words, we will also help them to blend the sounds to make words.
